Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the ointment. Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pouch.
Squeeze a thin ribbon of ointment (about 1/2 inch) into this pouch. Close your eye gently and roll your eyeball around to distribute the ointment evenly.
Avoid touching the tip of the tube to your eye or any other surface to prevent contamination.
Apply the ointment as directed by your doctor. Common regimens involve applying a small amount to the affected eye(s) two to four times daily. Follow your prescription instructions precisely.
After application, avoid touching your eyes. This helps prevent spreading the infection or introducing new germs.
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Never double the dose.
Store the ointment at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Note: Discontinue use and contact your doctor immediately if you experience worsening symptoms, increased eye irritation, or an allergic reaction (e. g., swelling, redness, itching).
Always consult your physician or pharmacist for specific dosage recommendations and to address any concerns.
