Wash your hands thoroughly before starting.
Gently blow your nose to clear nasal passages.
- Remove the cap from the Bactroban tube. Apply a thin layer of ointment (approximately 1/2 inch) to your fingertip. Carefully insert your fingertip into one nostril and apply the ointment to the inside of the nostril, spreading it evenly along the nasal lining. Repeat the process for the other nostril. Avoid touching the tip of the tube to your nose to prevent contamination.
Apply the ointment as directed by your doctor, typically twice daily.
Replace the cap on the tube after each use. Wash your hands again after application. Store the ointment at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
If irritation occurs, stop using Bactroban and consult your doctor.
