Generally, you instill two drops of Ciprodex into the affected ear twice daily. Maintain this schedule for seven to ten days, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Proper Administration: Gently pull your earlobe upward and backward (adults) or downward and backward (children) to straighten the ear canal. Tilt your head to allow the drops to flow easily into the ear. After instilling the drops, gently massage the area in front of your ear to help distribute the medication.
Important Note: Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your ear or fingers, to prevent contamination. If using with other ear drops, administer them at least 30 minutes apart.
Children’s Dosage: The dosage remains the same for children, but parental supervision is crucial during administration. Adjust earlobe pulling accordingly, as mentioned above.
Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember, unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Don’t double the dose to compensate for a missed one.
Duration: Complete the full course of treatment, even if your symptoms improve sooner. Premature discontinuation can lead to recurrence of the infection.
